H.E. Ling Rinpoche traveled to Bodhgaya (Bihar, India) in December, for teachings with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. On 24th December, Rinpoche had an audience with His Holiness. Rinpoche gave public audiences to many visiting students from all over the world, after the conclusion of His Holiness' teachings each day. On 25th December, the anniversary of the death of H.H. 6th Yongzin Ling Rinpoche, H.E. Ling Rinpoche paid respects at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya where he enjoyed a surprise meeting with Kyabjé Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

In early November, H.E. Ling Rinpoche gave three days of teachings at Tawang Monastery, beginning on the holy day of Lhabab Dhuchen. Rinpoche bestowed the initiations of Chenrezig, Manjushri, Vajrasattva and the Buddha Amitayus Long Life initiation.

The people of Tawang, Tawang Monastery and Tendon Culture Association made a long life offering for Rinpoche and offered a Dharmachakra award. Rinpoche bestowed the novice ordination vows for the first time to a group of novice monks and nuns from Tawang Namgyal Lhatse Monastery. Rinpoche's visit to AP concluded at Tsona Gontse Rabgyay Ling in Bomdila. On 18th November, H.E. Ling Rinpoche celebrated his 33rd birthday.

H.E. Ling Rinpoche gave Dharma teachings and bestowed the White Tara Long Life Initiation at Tushita Meditation Center, Dharamsala on 15th October. Later in October, Rinpoche met with H.E. Dagpo Rinpoche in Delhi. At the end of the month, Rinpoche traveled to Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh, India) and was warmly welcomed by the Honorable Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Legislative Members, the Chairman of Religion and Culture, Head Monks of Monasteries, DC, SP, Settlement Officer of Tenzin Gaon, and many other dignitaries and members of the public.

H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited North America's West Coast over five weeks in August and September. Rinpoche's tour started in California's San Francisco Bay Area, where he taught for three weeks, hosted by the local FPMT Centers - Vajrapani Institute, Land of Medicine Buddha, Tse Chen Ling Center and Ocean of Compassion Buddhist Center. Rinpoche taught topics including the "Foundation of All Good Qualities," the "Three Principal Aspects of the Path," and the "Seven Point Mind Training," and bestowed initiations including Manjushri, Four-Arm Chenrezig and Vajrapani. H.E. Ling Rinpoche was invited by Lama Zopa Rinpoche to visit his home in Aptos, Kachoe Dechen Ling, where H.E. Ling Rinpoche led protector prayers for the FPMT.

During this tour, H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited Silicon Valley companies including Google, Apple and Electronic Arts, where he gave talks on "Genuine Happiness" and "Joyful Non-Attachment in Daily Life." Rinpoche also gave a public talk at University of California at Berkeley, on "Finding Happiness and Well-Being."

At the request of the Tibetan Association of Northern California (TANC), H.E. Ling Rinpoche gave a talk and bestowed the Buddha Amitayus Long Life initiation for the local Tibetan community. Rinpoche also visited the Sera Jey Foundation where he gave the oral transmission and teaching on His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama's Long-Life Prayer, and the Gyuto Foundation where he bestowed the White Tara Long Life Initiation. Rinpoche visited and blessed the Ananda Center and later bestowed the Medicine Buddha initiation and gave the oral transmission of the Yamantaka Sadhana.

In the fourth week of the tour, H.E. Ling Rinpoche traveled to Spokane, Washington and to Portland, Oregon. In Washington, Rinpoche blessed the Buddhist Institute of Universal Compassion and visited Sravasti Abbey, where he taught on the "Song of the Four Mindfulnesses." Rinpoche also spoke at North Idaho College on "Cultural Identity".

H.E. Ling Rinpoche was warmly welcomed by the Tibetan Community in Portland with cultural events. Rinpoche gave a talk at Maitripa College on "Kindness and Compassion for the Youth," and spoke at the University of Portland's Interfaith Conference, "Spirituality and Humanity: An Interfaith Conversation about Creating Harmonious Community and Healthy Leadership." At the invitation of the Northwest Tibetan Cultural Association, Rinpoche bestowed the White Tara Long Life initiation, and gave a teaching on the "Eight Verses of Thought Transformation."

H.E. Ling Rinpoche then traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico, where he led a weekend retreat on "The Foundation of All Good Qualities" and bestowed the Manjushri initiation, jointly hosted by the Mexican FPMT Centers. Rinpoche consecrated a new stupa at Khamlungpa Center and gave a public talk in Guadalajara on "The Ethics of Our Time."

Later in September, H.E. Ling Rinpoche traveled to Japan where he gave teachings on the "Four Noble Truths," and bestowed the White Tara Long Life initiation at Thupten Dargyay Ling Dharma Center in Sendai. Rinpoche also gave a public talk on "Cultivating a Peaceful and Happy Mind." At the request of the Office of Tibet in Japan, Rinpoche gave teachings on "Praise for Dependent Origination," at Gokokugii Temple in Tokyo. Rinpoche concluded his visit with a talk at Seiwa Gakuan High School.

In late June, H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, India, where he gave a Dharma talk at the Sambhota Tibetan School, consecrated the Jangchup Stupa, and gave teachings and the Buddha Amitayus Long Life initiation to attendees from Chosum Tibetan Settlement, Shalu Monastery and other Tibetan Settlements around Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

In July, H.E. Ling Rinpoche gave audiences and talks to three groups of visiting students from the UK (Stonyhurst College, Barton Peveril College and Pates Grammar School) and also to a group of Tibetan students from the USA, UK and Europe, who came for a summer camp at the Buddhist Dialectic School in Dharamsala.

Rinpoche then traveled to Japan, where he was invited to celebrate His Holiness the Dalai Lama's birthday with Japanese Parliament representatives, the Representative for the Office of Tibet in Japan and other dignitaries. The celebration included Rinpoche presiding over an Animal Liberation ceremony. Rinpoche taught at Gokukuji Temple on the "Eight Verses of Thought Transformation," gave a talk on "Compassion in Modern Society," and bestowed the Four-Arm Chenrezig initiation. Rinpoche also taught an "Introduction to Lam Rim," at Potala College.

H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited Italy and France in May and early June. Rinpoche commenced his European tour with an eight-day teaching on “Lam Rim Chenmo,” followed by a Manjushri initiation, at Instituto Lama Tzongkhapa in Pomaia, Italy. Rinpoche also visited and blessed a site in Pomaia for a new monastery, Lungtok Chokhor Ling, and gave the oral transmission of the “Praises to Manjushri” prayer and mantra. Rinpoche continued on to Milan, where he gave Buddhist introductory teachings and a Buddha Amitayus Long Life initiation at Ghe Pel Ling, as well as offering advice to the local Tibetan community. Rinpoche then gave teachings on the “Eight Verses for Thought Transformation” in Padua at the Tara Chittamani Center. Rinpoche visited the Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua, where the head monk received Rinpoche and invited him to view St. Anthony's holy relics.

H.E. Ling Rinpoche then traveled to Veneux Les Sablong, France, where he was warmly welcomed by Venerable Dagpo Rinpoche and his students. Rinpoche gave teachings on the “Three Principal Aspects of the Path” at Ganden Ling Center, and bestowed the Manjushri, Chenresig, Vajrapani and White Tara initiations. On the auspicious day of Saka Dawa, the anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha's Birth, Enlightenment and Parinirvana, Rinpoche joined the Tibetan community in Paris and presided over a tsog offering puja. Rinpoche then gave the local Tibetans advice and oral transmissions of many mantras. Rinpoche concluded his tour by giving teachings on “The Foundation of All Good Qualities” and the Medicine Buddha initiation, at the Kalachakra Center in Paris.

In April, H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited Singapore to lead a three-day Grand Puja Ceremony hosted by the Gaden Shartse Dro Phen Ling (GSDPL) Buddhist Center. Rinpoche bestowed the Dorje Namjong, Yellow Dzambhala and Hayagriva initiations.

Later that month, Kyabjé Denma Locho Rinpoche's 18-month old reincarnation Yangsi Rinpoche had an audience with H.E. Ling Rinpoche at Yongzin Lingtsang Labrang in Dharamsala.

H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited Perth, Australia in March, where he gave two days of teachings on the "Foundation of All Good Qualities" and the Je Rig Sum Chig (Manjushri, Chenrezig & Vajrapani) initiations at Hayagriva Buddhist Center (FPMT). Rinpoche gave a public talk on the "Buddhist Science of Happiness" at the University of Western Australia and he performed an animal liberation ceremony for crayfish at Cottesloe Beach.

In January, H.E. Ling Rinpoche attended teachings and initiations conferred by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Bodhgaya, India. Rinpoche joined H.E. Rizong Rinpoche, H.E. Professor Samdhong Rinpoche and Tulkus from Drepung Loseling Monastery under the Bodhi tree at the Mahabodhi Stupa, to offer prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama's long life and for world peace and harmony.

H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited Root Institute (FPMT) in Bodhgaya, where he gave an oral transmission and teachings on Lama Tsongkhapa's "Foundation for All Good Qualities," and bestowed the Yellow Dzambhala initiation. Rinpoche blessed Root Institute's Maitreya School, Tara Children's Project and Shakyamuni Buddha Medical Clinic.
